Habitat For Homes

One of the things I miss about living in London is a store called Habitat. Whenever I walked down High Street Kensington, I always couldn't help but gaze at its fantastic window displays and overall coolness. One time, my neck craned toward the store, I nearly walked into this upper class woman in a fur coat. But of course, being a Londoner, she didn't curse at me but rather avoided eye contact and muttered "Watch out, you". Classic.

Habitat is a home furnishing store with locations throughout the UK, as well as apparently in Spain, France and Germany (thanks Wikipedia!). It carries very modern and sleek furniture, storage and decorations. I've been in the store on High Street Ken several times and its really fun because all their products are set up like they're real rooms. So you can sit in a living area and pretend that you are in your utterly chic and sophisticated flat.

And dude, when Manolo Blahnik creates a shoehorn for your store, you know it's amazing.

Visit the Habitat Web site if you want to shop online. So what if the dollar to pound conversion is absolutely horrendous? And those shipping costs? Ppshht.
