Barriques: Chic and Happening

If there's anything I've learned by being a student, it's that libraries are cold and lifeless. You often end up sitting in a wee worker cubicle, surrounded by silence and the occasional exasperated moan from the dude next to you. Depressing, right?

Enter Barriques. Barriques is a hip wine/coffee/espresso bar in Madison, WI that makes studying much more pleasant. It's full of happy people and tasty drinks and satisfying munchies. The chairs are unique and comfy. And it has this super cool industrial and artistic atmosphere that makes you feel like you're somewhat chic and happening.

They even have this whole wall full of wine bottles called the 'Wall of 100'.

Sometimes I like to ponder about other kinds of things you could put 100 times on a wall. 100 stickers. 100 stop signs. 100 alluring photos of Jake Gyllenhaal. The fun never stops!

One of my friends likes Barriques a lot, too. She once told me that when she's really tired, she stops by in the morning and orders a huge black coffee with a shot of espresso dumped in it. Isn't that an amazing story!?

And their skinny hot chocolate is so good. It's full of creamy chocolate-y goodness that is the perfect recipe for numbing the fact that you're sitting doing philosophy. Thus letting you concentrate on being chic and happening.
