Do you like going to top secret places? Then the stealthy Madison restaurant Natt Spill is for you. It has no outdoor sign or telephone so its doubly secret and badass. Either this is because they want to be oh-so hip or they have some inexplicable hatred of signage and technology. I would add some photos of the interior and its food, but you guessed it, Natt Spill ain’t about to throw up a Web site.
Natt Spill's interior has an intimate, warm cave-like feeling with dimmed orange lighting, heavy wooden chairs and tables, a wood-burning stove and a DJ spinning in the corner. There’s a bar and huge drink menu. In the summer, large wooden shutters are opened, providing an open-air European-like dining experience.
The menu is small but diverse. From their brie, apple and shallot pizza to their delicious three-cup chicken, flavor exudes from every bite. Unique smoky flavors and spices provide a wonderful alternative to often bland selections at many Madison (and Midwestern) restaurants.
Heads up: Bring cash because they don’t take credit cards. Guess they hate modern banking, too.
